Early Years
NURSERY AND RECEPTION - 3 TO 5 YEARS
Where a lifelong love of learning begins
Early Years: where growth, learning and confidence begin
At ISM, we believe that the early years are the most important foundation for a child’s future learning, wellbeing and development. That is why our Early Years programme provides a nurturing, stimulating and personalised environment where children can grow in confidence, curiosity and independence.
The Early Years cover the vital stage of education for children aged 3 to 5, focusing on learning through play, exploration and meaningful experiences. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework from England, our approach supports children’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development while encouraging a lifelong love of learning.
Through small class sizes, full English immersion, outdoor learning opportunities and individualised support, we ensure that every child is known, valued and inspired to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
The early years leave a lasting mark
The first years of life are a fundamental stage in a child’s development. During this period, children build the foundations for future learning, develop key social and emotional skills, and begin to understand the world around them through exploration, play and meaningful experiences. At ISM, we provide a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, supported and encouraged to grow.
Our Early Years programme follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework from England and is divided into two key stages: Nursery (ages 3–4) and Reception (ages 4–5). Through a balance of child-led discovery, structured learning and outdoor experiences, we help children develop the confidence, curiosity and skills they need for a successful transition into Primary School.
Nursery (ages 3–4): Learning becomes an adventure. We nurture creativity, fine motor skills and logical thinking through active teaching methods that make every day a unique experience.
Reception (4 to 5 years): The bridge to Primary. We build up habits, skills and confidence so that every child can move on to the next stage with enthusiasm and a solid foundation.

We carefully observe and support each child’s individual development, working closely with families to ensure every child progresses at their own pace and feels valued throughout their learning journey.
Through full English immersion, children acquire language naturally in a supportive and engaging environment, building strong communication skills from an early age.
We foster wellbeing, independence and positive relationships, helping children develop resilience, empathy, respect and collaboration skills that will support them throughout their lives.
